Harborside Yacht Club will be developed on the most prominent waterfront property of the city of Punta Gorda. This infill site constitutes the cornerstone of the city's historical district. It comprises 4.5 acres of uplands, with 800 feet of frontage on Charlotte Bay, and 2.35 acres of submerged lands with a marina.

Contrary to popular belief, American History began in Charlotte Harbor in 1513 with the officially sanctioned exploration of Florida's east and west coasts by Ponce de Leon. He returned to Charlotte Harbor in 1521 to establish a colony, a century before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. Punta Gorda is Spanish for "Broad Point" and refers to how the land jutted into Charlotte Harbor. The City of Punta Gorda was incorporated on December 7, 1887 and today is the only city in Charlotte County.

Harborside Yacht Club will comprise 112 condominium units and a marina with 82 wet slips. In addition, the community will also have a 6,000 sq. ft. waterfront restaurant with an outside dinning deck overlooking Charlotte Harbor. Parking for the existing hotel, residences, restaurant, marina and marina store will be provided in a design-build parking garage. The parking garage will have a rooftop pool and sundeck for the residents' and boaters' use. The community also includes a vehicular and pedestrian promenade around the perimeter of the site, which connects to Laishley Park to the east and to the county's event cent to the west. It allows the city's waterfront activity to be extended from the Western Harbor Village to the city's easternmost boundary. The promenade gives Harbor Resort and Yacht Club a quiet & relaxing lifestyle, with the integration of the downtown excitement on the longest, publicly accessible, city waterfront.

Harborside Yacht Club is ideally situated facing Charlotte Harbor and lays between the north and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 41 (Tamiami Trail). The community is within close proximity to Port Charlotte and Interstate 75.
