Company History

Since its inception in the late 1970's, Interdevco has earned a distinguished reputation in the South Florida building industry by creating outstanding developments built on solid research and market analysis aimed at providing full customer satisfaction. The company quickly developed into a full-service real estate organization primarily involved in home, townhome, and condominium building; the development and management of residential rental communities; and, more recently, the development and management of hotels, marinas, and restaurants.

Interdevco is noted for the ability to successfully bring to the affordable end of the housing spectrum the distinctive quality, tasteful design, and careful craftsmanship of higher priced residential developments. Interdevco's success is evidenced by its ranking among the top 10 Dade County Builders for the first quarter of 1992, as published by PRICE WATERHOUSE, as well as in numerous F.A.M.E. architectural awards for exceptional achievement in product design.

Interdevco's real estate development operations are the result of a 45-year history of providing quality communities in West and South Florida. With construction ventures spanning Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Lee, Charlotte, and Sarasota counties, the company has developed a number of successful communities; provided quality homes to more than 3,000 homebuyers; constructed mixed-use rental and retail space in downtown Coconut Grove; developed and managed over 650 rental apartments; managed work-out developments for several lenders; worked on several international developments; developed, renovated, and managed over 660 hotel rooms; developed and managed two marinas with over 150 wet-slips; and developed and managed four restaurants and bars with over 760-seats.

The company is represented by Josep ("Joe") M. Suriol, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Leonel A, Maresma, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Together they bring valuable years of successful experience and a legacy of outstanding real estate projects.

In 1997 Mr. Suriol sold his interest in his development company to private investors.

In 1998, Mr. Suriol joined the Related Group of Florida as Senior Vice President of Development. Mr. Maresma joined the Interdevco team in September 1990. Mr. Maresma obtained experience at every level of the development and corporate structure, including acquisitions, building construction, sales, condominium associations, property management, and more. In 1997 after Mr. Suriol sold his interests in his development company to private investors, Mr. Maresma continued to work as a financial consultant for Interdevco's developments still under construction at that time. Mr. Maresma later joined Mr. Suriol at The Related Group of Florida as their Corporate Controller of its Property Management division consisting of 22 residential rental communities, over 4,700 rental units, and managing annual rental revenues exceeding $55 million.
