The Miami River is a river in Florida that drains out of the Everglades and runs through downtown Miami, Florida. The 5.5 mile long river flows from Miami International Airport (Miami Canal) to Biscayne Bay. The river was originally a natural river inhabited at its mouth by the Tequesta Indians. The mouth of the river is now home to the Port of Miami and many other businesses which help to maintain the river's condition.

Miami River Cove Marina sits on land owned in fee-simple. The total site consists of 3.88 acres. The majority of the site is submerged lands, with depths of approximately 4' to 8'. The marina improvements included the complete demolition of the existing docks and the construction of a new modern concrete dock, electrical system, freshwater system, fire system, telephone system, cable TV system, sanitation system, pilings, pile driving, pile caps, cleats, polymer filler slabs, cover boards, locker boxes, gangways, and pump out station.

Amenities at the completed marina included a 1,211 square foot gatehouse, with showers and changing rooms, water, electric and cable at each dock, wireless internet service, 24-hour security, 41 parking spaces, a bar/grill area, pump-out station, and individual lifts for each slip allowing the vessels to be stored out of the water.
